Wilcoxon Sensing Technologies, an Amphenol company and a pioneer in underwater sensing, has released the H23 series of next-generation hydrophones. H23 series hydrophones are small, versatile, self-amplified and shielded for a variety of underwater acoustic measurements. The H23-080, H23-100 and H23-130 model numbers correspond to versions with 80 kHz, 100 kHz and 130 kHz attenuation of the signal in radial directions.
The rugged, integral cable design of the H23 series enables underwater operation down to 680 meters, 2,230 feet or 1,000 PSI. The underwater microphones are suitable for test and measurement and military uses. Lab and ocean applications include calibration, military surveillance, underwater biological studies, ship noise studies, pump cavitation and machinery studies, and monitoring of underwater ordnance.
H23 hydrophones have a wide, flat frequency response for underwater sound measurements over the frequency range of 5 Hz to 150 kHz. An ultra-low-noise internal amplifier eliminates triboelectric cable noise, connector contamination and an expensive external amplifier.
For more than 60 years, Wilcoxon has developed industry-leading transducers for demanding naval applications.
