New directional couplers operating from 0.4 to 7.125 GHz with nominal couplings from 6 to 30 dB

07 May 2024

KRYTAR, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of ultra-broadband microwave components and test equipment, announces a family of five new directional couplers operating in the frequency range of 0.4 GHz to 7.125 GHz (UHF through C-Bands) offering nominal couplings from 6 dB to 30 dB in compact packages. These couplers offer the ultimate solution for emerging designs and test and measurement applications including mmWave, 5G, radar, satellite communications (SATCOM), radar and more.

KRYTAR’s new directional couplers offer superior performance ratings including:
Model 10040712506: 6 dB nominal coupling, ±1.2 dB frequency sensitivity, 2.0 dB insertion loss
Model 10040712510: 10 dB nominal coupling, ±1.2 dB frequency sensitivity, 1.4 dB insertion loss
Model 10040712516: 16 dB nominal coupling, ±1.0 dB frequency sensitivity, 0.9 dB insertion loss
Model 10040712520: 20 dB nominal coupling, ±1.2 dB frequency sensitivity, 0.9 dB insertion loss
Model 10040712530: 30 dB nominal coupling, ±1.2 dB frequency sensitivity, 0.8 dB insertion loss

All models exhibit input power ratings of 20 W average and 3 kW peak. The directional couplers come withSource: KRYTAR, Inc.Source: KRYTAR, Inc. industry-standard SMA female connectors with optional SMA male and N type female connectors. The compact packages measure just 6.00 inches (L) x 0.50 inches (W) x 0.73 inches (H), and with SMA female connectors weighs only 5.0 ounces. Operating temperature is -54° C to 85° C.

KRYTAR’s new directional couplers are uniquely designed for systems applications where external leveling, precise monitoring, signal mixing or swept transmission and reflection measurements are required. KRYTAR couplers offer solutions for many applications including electronic warfare, mmWave, 5G New Radio, Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, SATCOM, radar, multiple-input and multiple-output radio links, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beamforming and electromagnetic compatibility testing environments. The directional couplers can also be manufactured to meet ridged military specifications.
