Two new dual-directional couplers from KRYTAR cover broadband frequency range of 0.7 GHz to 14 GHz with 10 dB and 20 dB couplings

02 April 2024

KRYTAR, Inc., a developer of ultra-broadband microwave components and test equipment, announces two new dual-directional couplers operating in the wideband frequency range of 0.7 GHz to 14 GHz offering nominal couplings of 10 dB and 20 dB in compact packages. These dual-directional couplers offer the ultimate solution for emerging designs and test and measurement applications including power sampling and measurement, amplifier leveling, voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) monitoring, field control, and amplifier and load protection.

KRYTAR’s new dual-directional couplers expand the family of superior performance products offeringSource: KRYTAR, Inc.Source: KRYTAR, Inc. broadband coverage in compact packages with superior performance ratings including:

Model 500714010: Nominal coupling: 10 dB, frequency sensitivity: ±0.85 dB, insertion loss: <2.7 dB

Model 500714020: Nominal coupling: 20 dB, frequency sensitivity: ±0.80 dB, insertion loss: 1.5 dB

Both models cover 0.7 GHz to 14 GHz and exhibit input power rating of 20 W average and 3 kW peak, include industry-standard SMA female connectors in a compact package which measures just 8.98 inches (L) x 0.71 inches (W) x 0.53 inches (H), and weighs only 7 ounces. Operating temperature is -54° C to 85° C.

KRYTAR coaxial dual-directional couplers are four-port couplers that are the combination of two three-port couplers having their main lines cascaded. This dual-directional design, two back-to-back couplers in the same package, lets users monitor forward and reflected power. It also assures good directivity, flatness and coupling accuracy.

KRYTAR's dual-directional couplers are uniquely designed for systems applications where external leveling, precise monitoring, signal mixing or swept transmission and reflection measurements are required. KRYTAR couplers offer solutions for many applications including electronic warfare (EW), commercial wireless, SATCOM, radar, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beamforming, and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing environments. For many space-restricted applications the compact size makes KRYTAR directional couplers ideal solutions. These directional couplers can also be manufactured to meet ridged military specifications.
