DECT Forum, Nordic Semiconductor, Wirepas and Last Mile semiconductor will demonstrate live a NR+ 5G standard, a technology needed to meet requirements for industrial internet of things (IIoT) applications.
The technology is used for industrial automation, metering and logistics.
“NR+ will democratize 5G and revolutionize the industrial IoT landscape, enabling any company or organization to build a robust and cost-effective private 5G solution that meets the stringent demands of the modern digital era,” said Roel Ottink, director business development at the DECT Forum.
What is NR+
New Radio+ is a non-cellular radio technology to allow enterprises to manage, establish and own private 5G wireless IoT networks that can connect millions of devices at a low cost of ownership.
The technology also:
- Enables end-to-end packet delivery rate of 99.99%
- Achieves 1ms latency
- Offers kilometers of range
- Supports dense network topologies
- Reduces deployment expenses
- Prevents single points of failure
- Manages complex traffic patterns
Additionally, NR+ can form mesh networks that are self-healing and self-organizing, allowing for uninterrupted service and adaptability.
