MSM II: The new generation of mechanical pushbuttons made of high-grade stainless steel

06 September 2023

Schurter extends its popular momentary pushbutton switch series MSM to include the newest addition, the MSM II. The MSM Metal Line switch family has been successfully used on the market for over 30 years, which is attributed to its durability, precision and overall high quality. The new generation MSM II stands out even more as it builds on these traits while adding more features.

Available in 16 mm, 19 mm, 22 mm and 30 mm mounting diameters, the original MSM pushbutton with microswitch for switching currents from 100 mA to 10 A is now complemented by the new generation MSM II, which sports a subminiature microswitch. The new microswitch provides a shallower mounting depth for switching currents from 100 mA to 3 A for single pole double throw (SPDT) as well as double pole double throw (DPDT) circuits. In addition to its enhanced design, the MSM II features increased electrostatic discharge resistance (contact: ± 8kV; air: ± 15kV), increased impact resistance IK 08, and an even wider temperature range from -30° C to 85° C.

User interface is a growing topic when it comes to equipment aesthetics and safe operation. The MSM family has remained successful due to its wide selection of elegant options as well as unrivaled haptic and optical feedback quality. Lighting options include ring, point or surface area. Choose between single color or RGB, which allows for individual settings and light scenes. All lighted versions are available for a supply voltage of 5 V DC, 12 V DC or 24 V DC.

Pricing for the MSM II starts at $10 in 100-piece quantities for the 16 mm version. The switches are packaged in boxes of 10 pieces each.
