Highly accurate torque sensors drive success in the automotive industry
Himmelstein's line of ultra-precise shaft torquemeters bring a new level of performance and feature content to inline torque measurement.
These units have integrated signal conditioning and provide three analog outputs that are user-assignable and user-settable. They can be used for torque, speed and horsepower analog outputs that are settable from +5 to +10 Vdc. Also included is an RS232, 422, 485 digital interface for direct connection to a computer and display of torque, speed and horsepower digitally and graphically at the computer as well as data collection and storage to the computer.
Models are available in ranges from 2.8 Nm to 42,000 Nm. They're also available with different mechanical overload ratings. Available mechanical overload ratings are 200%, 400% and even 1,000% which offers supreme protection against torsional spikes or peaks that may be seen in different types of applications, either with high starting torques or applications where you have large torsional spikes such as diesel engine testing.
We also have a range of models available with a dual range output so you can have both a high range and a low range fully calibrated output signal to minimize changeover of transducers when testing different sized products or testing under different conditions, increasing the dynamic range of measurement of a different transducer.
All units feature significant overrange on the electrical output signal. That means we don't have clip at full scale. We allow the electrical output to extend beyond its full scale. So instead of stopping at 10 volts, the electrical output will extend up to 15 volts. The advantage of this overrange is that it will not clip the peaks and it will not affect the accuracy of the average displayed torque. Units are available in standard accuracy configuration of +0.04% of full scale and also an enhanced accuracy configuration of +0.02% of full scale.
They also feature superb temperature compensation and temperature performance minimizing any impact of temperature change during a test on the output signal. All units are provided with an ISO 17025 NAVLAP accredited NIST traceable calibration certificate and all include noise hardening against EMI from adjustable speed drives.
