New Yorker Electronics releases new Exxelia Sic Safco screw-terminal capacitors

20 May 2019

New Yorker Electronics is distributing the newest Exxelia Sic Safco long-life aluminum electrolytic capacitor. The company said its Felsic HV family of aluminum electrolytic screw terminal capacitors provides great performances in energy density combined with an ultra-long lifetime — for instance, 6,800 µF at 450 V fit into a volume of Ø77 mm x 220 mm and can withstand 200,000 hours between 0 to 70° C under 37 Amps. New Yorker Electronics said this makes them the perfect choice for use in rolling stock traction systems or the concurrent versioning system (CVS).

The series also has one of the lowest ESR of its class with less than 10 mΩ in most cases. Products are available for voltages from 160 to 450 V DC, and offer capacitance values from 1,500 μF up to 47,000 μF — ensuring the best compromise between reliability and compactness.

Exxelia screw terminal aluminum electrolytic capacitors are large capacitors supporting high energy loads. High energy density and lifetime are the top features of these capacitors as they are used in high-reliability applications. Showcased last year at PCIM Europe, the Felsic HV aluminum electrolytic screw terminal capacitor is most often used in aviation, military, medical and railway applications.
