The smart home is coming to the real estate market in a big way. There are multiple plans from multiple builders of old and new homes that are including certain features of the connected home such as smart security, voice assistants, smart lighting and more.
Continuing with that trend is KB Home, which is partnering with Google to include Google Assistant voice-activated speakers in new homes from the builder.
KB said this is the first time a real estate company has partnered with Google with initial roll out of the voice speakers being placed in select KB Home communities.
With Google Assistant, homeowners will be able to control the functionality of the smart home to include automated routines and enable further home automation through other connected devices.
The Google Assistants will be included in new home sales at communities in Denver; Las Vegas; Jacksonville, Florida; and Orange County, California. KB said it will expand the availability of the smart speaker in other KB Homes in the future.
The smart home components that will be installed in these KB Home communities include a Google Wi-Fi mesh network for strong signal throughout the home, two smart speakers with voice control and automation and a Nest video doorbell.
Additional smart home devices will be available as well such as connected appliances, smart lighting, smart window shades, smart door locks and more.
