Dialog Semiconductor PLC will unveil a new multi-sensor kit that supports sensor connectivity for the internet of things (IoT) to connect to the cloud at a low power and small footprint at this week’s Sensor Expo in San Jose.

The SmartBond 15 Degrees-of-Freedom sensor kit allows developers to collect environmental data such as temperature, pressure, humidity, gas concentrations as well as motion, light, sound and magnetic field. This broad spectrum of capabilities can be used for rapid prototyping and accelerated time-to-market.

The sensor kit offers cloud support ranging from if this, then that (IFTTT) for the creation of simple applets, to the creation of advanced workflows for data analytics support cloud agents from all major platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. Connecting sensors to the cloud allows new possibilities such as visualization of historic data with data analytics, remote sensor management, Alexa voice command support, alert notification and cloud-based actuator control.

The kit is powered by two AA batteries providing a long lasting battery life with a range of up to 300 meters.

Sensors Expo is taking place this week at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California.
