Philips Lighting’s Hue system has become one of the staples when referring to common options for outfitting a home with smart home automation.
Now, the company is releasing a new update to the app that controls the Hue lighting system for both iOS and Android devices.
The new app features more shortcuts to setting up rooms for different lighting schemes and new color arrangements as well as 30 new scenes for instant settings to match the mood of the user.
The new app design allows for shortcuts to be set up to adjust the Hue smart lighting with a few taps. Philips gave the example of pressing one button to setup a room or individual lights to change color or set last used scenes. With new color schemes, groups of light can be chosen to the exact shade of white or colored light from the palette.
The new scenes include a sunset in Honolulu, a night out in London’s Soho district and many more. The app can also extract colors from a user’s favorite pictures and apply it to the lighting.
