Video: Many Innovations at the 2015 NY Maker Faire Support the Emerging Maker Economy

29 September 2015

Maker-to-Market

Fueled by a mix of imagination, crowd-funding and a healthy dose of entrepreneurial spirit, the Maker economy is rapidly evolving from a fringe market to a small, but influential portion of the mainstream economy. Nowhere is this maturation more evident than at events like the 2015 NY Maker Faire. Some of the most exciting exhibits were tools, which make it easier for Makers to turn their ideas into products and bring them to market. Among the wonders on display at the festival were a 3D imager that can see through walls, a low-cost rapid prototyping service, a Maker-sized electronics assembly system, and a multi-function 3D personal manufacturing system which sports 12 interchangeable tool heads.
