An IoT-Out-of-the-Box experience is now available thanks to the collaboration of Renesas, Arrow Electronics, Bug Labs and NimbeLink. The companies have joined forces to create a demo platform supporting developers dealing with concept-to-cloud designs. Target apps include Internet of Things (IoT) segments such as the connected home, healthcare and industrial building.
The IoT Enabler Kit delivers a complete solution from network edge sensors to enterprise apps. Designed specifically for use with the RL78 family of MCUs, users can easily connect the board to the cloud, monitor sensors, control peripherals and view enterprise apps without programming.
The current designers are spread thin given the rapid time-to-market requirements of IoT apps. The collaboration of the four companies provide designers an expanding ecosystem able to support them from design and prototype through evaluation, connectivity and remote monitoring of their designs.
The development platform includes:
- The Renesas RL78 MCU board with the RL78/G14 MCU and peripherals.
- Free access to Bug Labs’ cloud based IoT dweet and freeboard application development tools.
- NimbeLink PMOD adapter board and Skywire modem for rapid connection to sensors and the network.
The IoT Enabler Kit is available now through Arrow Electronics.
Renesas will host a seminar series with events across the U.S. where attendees will learn more about designing with the IoT Enabler. Visit http://am.renesas.com/event/ for more information.
