Blackberry 7230 Mobile Phone Teardown

The following is an overview of a teardown analysis conducted by IHS Technology Teardown Services.

PDA/phone with relatively simple feature set - a no-nonsense mobile PDA not featuring frivolous media features.

This device competes most closely with Treo 600 - however the Blackberry 7230 is a simpler design internally and as a result is 70% of the cost of the Treo.

Internal design features off the shelf chipset solutions - with Analog Devices ABB/DBB as core.

No seperate microprocessor as found in other more feature-rich PDA phones.
